This poster explores the concept of distance beyond physical space, questioning how emotional significance reshapes our perception of closeness and separation. Through distorted typography and abstract visuals, it illustrates how distance is less about miles and more about meaning.
While distance is often described as the length of space between two points, the feeling that comes with being away from something or somebody seems to not have anything to do with space. Distance is hardly defined by the amount of miles that’s between you and that person or thing, but mostly by how important that one person or thing is for you.
Why does it feel so far if you travel across the state to get yourself a cup of coffee but not if you cross the state to meet the love of your life after a long time. This brings us to the idea that somewhere between close and far is a line that separates them, which is completely disconnected from the concept of space, but defined by the importance or love that goes with it.
